ROSS 138 MV

ROSS 138 MV is an early-maturing hybrid of corn (Zea mays L.) with a vegetative period of about 110 days, corresponding to an average maturity date. The plant is tall, reaching a height of 200–212 cm, with a medium-width leaf blade and slightly curved shape. The ear is cylindrical, of medium length and thickness, with 12–16 rows of kernels of cream-toothed yellow color. The 1000-kernel weight is 260–270 g, indicating good kernel development and density. The anthocyanin coloration of the plant is weak or absent, which is characteristic of this hybrid. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to diseases, including southern helminthosporiosis, powdery mildew, and stalk rot, as well as resistance to lodging. These qualities ensure stable yields and allow cultivation in various climatic conditions. The average grain yield is about 24 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 90.3 centners per hectare, confirmed by trials in various regions, including Chelyabinsk Oblast and the Republic of Tatarstan. ROSS 138 MV is suitable for cultivation both for grain and for fresh market use due to its high quality and marketability. The plant forms 12–13 leaves on the main stem, and the ear is positioned at a height of 70–75 cm. The hybrid demonstrates good adaptability to stressful conditions and moderate drought resistance, making it a versatile choice for farmers seeking high and stable corn yields.
