Technical Profile of the Hybrid PX 1 K 1 N

This hybrid, developed by Pioneer s.a., represents a versatile agricultural solution designed to meet the demands of both fresh market consumption and high-quality feed production. Drawing on the expertise of the Pioneer Overseas Corporation, the hybrid is engineered to provide consistency in yield and superior organoleptic properties.

Grain Morphology and Quality Indicators

• Grain Structure: The hybrid features a conical-cylindrical grain shape, which is highly prized for its efficient packing on the cob. This design minimizes waste during processing and ensures an aesthetically pleasing product for direct retail.
• Coloration: The deep yellow-orange pigment is a key indicator of carotenoid content, enhancing the visual appeal of the corn and increasing its nutritional value as a livestock feed component.

Operational Applications

The versatility of PX 1 K 1 N allows for diverse utilization strategies. Its primary strength lies in its performance as fresh market corn; it maintains texture and tenderness even after cooking, making it an excellent candidate for the fresh food segment. Beyond human consumption, the hybrid’s nutrient profile makes it a reliable input for high-energy animal feeds.

From a production standpoint, Pioneer s.a. has optimized this hybrid to bridge the gap between aesthetic product requirements and rigorous field performance. It is an ideal choice for growers who prioritize a dual-purpose strategy, enabling them to respond to market demand fluctuations—whether for the fresh food industry or livestock nutrition.
