MASHUK 240 is a mid-early maize (Zea mays L.) hybrid, intended for cultivation as grain or silage. It has a vegetative period of about 89 days and belongs to maturity group 240. The hybrid is characterized by high yield: average grain yield in the North Caucasus region reaches 65.5 c/ha, with maximum yields up to 116.2 c/ha, while silage dry matter yield can reach 147.5 c/ha, with maximum values up to 334.2 c/ha. Pre-harvest grain moisture is around 25.3%, and dry matter content is 39.2%.

This three-line hybrid is tall and resistant to drought and heat, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including the Central, Central Chernozem, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, and West Siberian regions. Recommended planting density is 75-85 thousand plants per hectare, which promotes optimal growth and high productivity.

MASHUK 240 demonstrates resistance to southern helminthosporiosis and is lightly affected by common smut, but is susceptible to stalk rot and ear rot, requiring attention during plant protection. The 1000-grain weight is approximately 280 grams, indicating the hybrid’s large kernel size.
