Kharkivskiy 311 MV — a mid-season corn hybrid characterized by a growth period from emergence to full maturity of 117–119 days. The plant reaches a height of 240–300 cm with a strong stem and well-developed root system. The ear has a weak conical shape, 22–28 cm long and 4.5–5 cm in diameter, attached at a height of 90–110 cm. The kernels are yellow, dent-type, with high starch (about 75%) and protein content; the ear has 16–18 rows of kernels, and the 1000-kernel weight ranges from 310 to 340 g.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to various diseases and stress factors, including stalk lodging, ear drooping, aerial and blister smut, and stalk rot. It also shows high cold tolerance and resistance to gray leaf spot, with medium resistance to corn borer. The plant develops rapidly in the early growth stage and is well-adapted to various growing conditions, making it suitable for use in steppe and forest-steppe zones.
The potential grain yield is 11.3–14.0 t/ha at 14% moisture, and the green mass yield reaches 58–60 t/ha with 32% dry matter content. The recommended plant population varies by growing zone: 45–50 thousand plants per hectare in dry conditions, up to 75–85 thousand plants for silage use. The optimal sowing scheme for hybridization plots is 12:4 or 6:2. Under favorable conditions, seed yield reaches 2.8–3.5 t/ha.
