Maize F 70

Technical Profile of the F 70 Hybrid

The F 70 sweet corn hybrid, developed by RAT, is engineered for farmers prioritizing ultra-early market entry. With a maturity window of 70–72 days from germination, it offers a distinct advantage in timing for growers looking to capture premium pricing during the initial seasonal supply peak.

Grain Characteristics and Composition

A key technical feature of F 70 is its hybrid grain type, which integrates both yellow and bicolored kernels. From an agronomic perspective, this selection is focused on optimizing sugar content and flavor profiles. The bicolored trait is specifically designed to meet current market trends, where consumers demand higher sweetness levels and attractive visual presentation. This makes the hybrid highly versatile for direct-to-consumer fresh market sales.

Applications and Performance

• Fresh Market: High cob uniformity minimizes labor costs during harvesting and sorting processes.
• Processing: The kernel structure is robust enough to withstand industrial cleaning and freezing processes without compromising texture or sugar stability.
• Forage Potential: The biomass remaining after cob harvest provides high nutritional value, serving as a secondary feed source for livestock, which helps maximize farm output per hectare.

F 70 is highly adaptable to various climatic zones within Russia, providing consistent yield performance under professional management. Successful cultivation requires a focused approach to nutrient management: due to its rapid physiological development, the plant requires efficient nitrogen delivery in the early vegetative stages to support vigorous ear formation. When cultivated according to standard protocols, F 70 yields reliable, high-quality results in both irrigated and non-irrigated conditions.
