ETNA

ETNA® corn is a medium-late maturing hybrid of grain corn, developed for use in animal husbandry, particularly for producing feed for livestock and poultry. This variety is characterized by high energy value and is adapted to various climatic conditions, making it suitable for cultivation in regions of Russia, including the North Caucasus. Plants reach a height of 270-280 cm, have a cylindrical ear with a red stalk, composed of 16-18 rows of kernels, each being toothed and yellow. The 1000-kernel weight is 280-290 grams, and the grain yield at harvest reaches 80-82%.

The ETNA hybrid has good disease resistance and moderate drought tolerance. The vegetation period is approximately 94 days, corresponding to FAO 500. The plant does not bush, has medium-width leaves, and the ear is located at a height of 110-120 cm. The hybrid is distinguished by high productivity: the maximum normalized dry matter yield reached 344.8 centners per hectare, and the grain yield on irrigated land reached up to 131.8 centners per hectare at a moisture content of 23.7%. These figures exceed standard values, confirming the high productivity of the variety.

ETNA is an intensive-type hybrid that particularly well responds to application of organic and mineral fertilizers, allowing to fully realize its potential on irrigated and water-secured lands. The optimal plant density is 55-60 thousand per hectare under irrigation and 40-45 thousand per hectare on dry land. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, the ETNA variety is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality feed and stable yields under various growing conditions.
