ES Ikar is a high-yielding hybrid of sweet corn, intended for grain production. It is distinguished by its high drought and heat tolerance, allowing successful cultivation under stressful conditions, including poor and sandy soils. The hybrid is adapted for late harvesting and is well-suited for monoculture, making it a versatile choice for various agroclimatic zones of Ukraine, such as Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Northern Steppe.
ES Ikar plants have a strong root system, ensuring stable high yields even under insufficient water supply. The hybrid is characterized by high water efficiency and good phytosanitary condition, reducing disease risks at the end of the vegetative period. Plant height is medium, grain is dent-type, with a 1000-grain mass ranging from 310-330 grams. Recommended planting density varies depending on soil moisture, allowing optimization of yield and grain quality.
ES Ikar effectively realizes its potential when using conservation cultivation technologies, including No-Till. It is resistant to stalk lodging, which is especially important for late harvests. The hybrid is recommended for optimal sowing dates, starting at soil temperature +8°C and above, promoting early field clearance and efficient use of harvesting equipment. Seed packaging is done in 50,000-seed bags, convenient for large-scale agricultural production.
