EC ASTEROID — a high-yielding corn hybrid, distinguished by its stability and high productivity even in drought conditions. This hybrid is adapted to various climatic zones, including the Polesie, Forest-Steppe, and Northern Steppe, making it a universal choice for cultivation in Ukraine. Plant height reaches 290 cm, and ear attachment height is 130 cm. The grain has a ribbed-toothed structure with a pink cob core, and the 1000-grain weight is 320 g. EC ASTEROID requires specific temperature accumulations for various developmental phases: 910°С until flowering, 1580°С for silage with 32% dry matter, and 1720°С for grain at 32% moisture. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to lodging and tolerance to common corn diseases, ensuring reliable yields. Due to its rapid water release, EC ASTEROID does not require additional desiccation measures. The root system is developed to efficiently utilize nutrient area, contributing to high compensatory capacity and resilience to stress conditions. For optimal development, fertilization is recommended in the 3–5 leaf stage, using appropriate microfertilizers, including domestic products. For weed and pest control in the 3–5 leaf stage, post-emergence herbicides containingnicosulfuron, 2,4-D 2-ethylhexyl ester, florasulam, and rimsulfuron, as well as insecticides based on imidacloprid and lambda-cyhalothrin, can be applied. Adhering to agronomic recommendations and using modern plant protection products enables full potential of the EC ASTEROID hybrid, ensuring high and stable yields under various cultivation conditions.
