A 2025 release from the Institute of Grain Crops of the NAAS of Ukraine, the "DU Opishnia" maize hybrid is specifically designed for grain production in the Polissia region. Field Performance and Morphology

The plant exhibits a strong, tall structure with an optimal ear insertion height, facilitating efficient harvesting. The broad, dark green leaves with moderate margin waviness maximize photosynthetic efficiency, which is crucial for grain filling in the variable light conditions of Polissia. The conical-cylindrical ear, characterized by a large diameter, ensures high grain capacity, while the short ear shank minimizes the risk of breakage during the maturation phase.

DU Opishnia demonstrates excellent standability, supported by low stem zigzagging and a well-developed root system, indicated by moderate anthocyanin coloration in the aerial roots.
