Adaptability and Field Performance of "DB Yasynia"

A 2025 release from the Institute of Grain Crops of the NAAS of Ukraine, the "DB Yasynia" hybrid is engineered to leverage the potential of the Polissia region. Its medium-early maturity group allows the crop to ripen consistently in temperate climates, avoiding the risks of late autumn frosts.

The morphological traits of the hybrid indicate a well-balanced plant structure. The height of the ear attachment, combined with a moderate leaf angle, promotes optimal photosynthesis and efficient moisture distribution. The wide leaf blade ensures intensive biomass accumulation, which is critical for forming high-quality grain.

Stress Resistance Profile

Under field conditions, "DB Yasynia" demonstrates the following characteristics:

• Heat and Drought Tolerance: The moderate green intensity of the leaves and their spatial orientation allow the plant to regulate transpiration effectively. The hybrid is adapted to the climatic fluctuations of the Polissia zone, maintaining metabolic activity even during short-term moisture deficits.
• Stem Strength: The weak zigzagging of the stem and moderate anthocyanin coloration of the internodes indicate good structural integrity. The plant possesses sufficient rigidity to resist lodging during the intensive grain-filling period.
• Phytosanitary Profile: Due to the specific structure of the tassel (medium density of spikelets and moderate branch length), the hybrid provides good aeration, reducing the risk of fungal infections in high-humidity conditions typical of northern regions.

The conical-cylindrical shape of the ear with a large diameter in the middle ensures a high grain yield. The short ear shank contributes to its resistance to snapping during mechanical harvesting, minimizing yield losses.
