Maize AS 15290

AS 15290 — a medium-early corn hybrid intended for producing wax-mature grain in regions with a limited growing season. The growing period ranges from approximately 88 to 123 days, enabling its effective use in the Central Chernozem region. The plant is of medium height with medium-width leaves, medium-length and cylindrical ears, with a dent-type kernel colored in yellow-orange shades. The average moisture content of the grain at harvest is about 28.9%, facilitating storage and processing.

The hybrid exhibits good resistance to stalk rot and moderate resistance to ear Fusarium, as well as resistance to common smut and stalk rot. These traits ensure stable yields and high grain quality. The anthocyanin pigmentation of various plant parts varies from weak to moderate intensity, which is a distinctive feature of this hybrid.

AS 15290 is well-adapted for mechanized harvesting, simplifying agronomic operations and increasing production efficiency. The recommended planting rate is 95–100 thousand plants per hectare. Average yields in the region reach 59.3–88.3 centners per hectare, with maximum yields up to 93.8 centners per hectare, surpassing standard varieties. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, this hybrid is a profitable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality grain under limited growing conditions.
