AP 4512 is a high-yielding corn hybrid intended for popcorn production. The plant is characterized by high and very high stature, reaching 280-310 cm, with a narrow angle between leaf blade and stem. The ear is of medium length and thickness, cylindrical in shape with a medium-length stalk. Popcorn-type kernels with distinctive yellow-orange coloring on the upper part and orange on the lower part, giving the product an attractive appearance. Anthocyanin pigmentation of roots and other plant parts varies from moderate to weak, which is a feature of this hybrid. AP 4512 hybrid is characterized by high grain yield, averaging 180.8 c/ha, which exceeds standard benchmarks by 13.9%. Maximum yield, achieved under optimal conditions, amounted to 191.7 c/ha. Grain moisture at harvest is usually around 34%, ensuring good quality and product preservation. Popcorn kernel expansion rate reaches 94%, and volume of expanded kernels is 54.5 cm³/g, making this hybrid especially attractive for high-quality popcorn production. To achieve maximum productivity, optimal planting density should be maintained: under sufficient moisture — 75-85 thousand plants per hectare, and under drought conditions — no more than 55-65 thousand plants per hectare. The hybrid has potential for green mass yield up to 650 c/ha, further expanding its usability.
