Maize 118 MV

Reliable performance: Working with the 118 MV hybrid

When searching for a balanced solution for grain and silage, the 118 MV hybrid from the Kuban Selection and Seed Center is a practical choice. It offers the predictability that farm managers need when balancing feed requirements and commercial grain sales.

Field characteristics and maturity

The main advantage of the 118 MV is its medium maturity. It represents the «golden mean», allowing farmers to avoid the risks of late harvesting while ensuring sufficient biomass accumulation. In real-world conditions, this means a more flexible and efficient harvest schedule. The plants show strong adaptability, consistent with a selection process that has been tested across various climatic zones.

Versatility in application

In practice, this hybrid performs effectively in both key areas:

• Grain: with proper agronomic management, it delivers a high yield of marketable grain with predictable moisture levels at harvest time.
• Silage: it produces high-quality green mass with an optimal ear-to-stalk ratio, which significantly improves the nutritional value of the livestock feed.

Field maintenance is straightforward: the hybrid does not require exotic or complicated agronomic techniques. Standard planters handle the seeding process easily, and the emergence is uniform. If your goal is to secure a stable output without the risks associated with finicky imported hybrids, 118 MV meets the needs of both field crop farmers and livestock breeders effectively.
