Cleoma "Snake of Gorinych" – an annual plant of the Cleomaceae family, which attracts attention with bright branched inflorescences resembling snakes. The plant height ranges from 100 to 150 cm, and the flowers have a diameter of about 1 cm and are colored in white-pink, violet-pink, cream, or yellow shade. Flowering begins in early July and continues until the end of September, while the plant may retain decorative fruits after flowering.
For successful cultivation of "Snake of Gorinych", ensure a sunny landscape plot with fertile, well-drained soil of neutral pH. Sowing seeds in spring – in March-April for seedlings or directly into open ground after the threat of frost ends (April-May). Recommended sowing depth is 0.5–1 cm and distance between plants 20–30 cm when grown as an annual, or 60–70 cm if perennial development is planned. Seeds can be soaked in epin or energene to accelerate germination.
"Snake of Gorinych" is drought and disease-resistant, but does not tolerate waterlogged soil. The plant easily combines with other decorative varieties – heliotrope, verbena, cosmos, liatris, phloxes, echinacea, as well as with garden crops (zucchini, cucumbers, beans). Thanks to bright colors and branched inflorescence structure, the plant is perfect for creating live color spots in flower beds, gardens, and landscape plots. Flower cutting preserves freshness for up to 10 days, which makes them convenient for bouquets and compositions.
