TROFIMOVSKAYA

The Trofimovskaya cherry variety is the result of selection, obtained by crossing the Zhukovskaya and Lyubskaya varieties. The tree is medium-sized with a rounded-oval spreading crown, reaching heights of 4-5 meters in the central region. The fruits of this variety are medium-sized, dark red, juicy, and have a sour-sweet taste with a slight pineapple aroma. The berries ripen in the medium-late period, in the second half of August - early September. The fruits detach dry, which facilitates harvest collection.

Trofimovskaya is distinguished by high winter hardiness and resistance to cockle disease, making it reliable for cultivation in various regions, including the Central-Black Earth, Central, and Middle-Volga. The variety is characterized by high yields, which can reach up to 11 kg per tree. It begins to bear fruit in the 4th-5th year of life, allowing for a sufficiently quick first harvest.

For planting, it is recommended to use holes 50-60 cm wide and 45-50 cm deep, into which a fertile layer of soil mixed with manure, compost, or peat, as well as mineral fertilizers, including superphosphate and potassium sulfate, is introduced. After planting, the soil is watered with a solution of dolomite flour to improve growth conditions. The variety easily withstands formative pruning and is suitable for universal use, making it an attractive choice for gardeners.
