Apomictic seedling of the 'Memory of Salamatov' variety. Originator — Central Siberian Botanical Garden, SB RAS. Breeders: V.S. Simagin, V.P. Belousova, R.A. Kapitsina. Registered in the State Register in 1999 for the West Siberian region.
Tree large, up to 6-7 m tall, with a medium-density, broad-pyramidal crown, densely foliated. Bark grayish, rough. Shoots directed upward, brown, medium, straight; buds numerous, yellow-brown. Vegetative buds medium, narrowly oval; generative buds oval, pressed against the shoot. Leaf inversely egg-shaped, medium, 6.5 x 3.5 cm, dark green, apex sharply pointed, base rounded, margin finely toothed, smooth, no pubescence; leaf blade flat, curved downward; glands 3-4, large, yellow, bean-shaped; petiole 1.5 cm long, medium, pigmented. Flowers in medium-density racemes, 10-12 cm long, 25-30 per raceme, flower diameter 13 mm, corolla saucer-shaped, petals not fused, white, oval, stigma slightly higher than stamens, calyx broadly cup-shaped, calyx lobes smooth-edged; stamens about 20, 4 mm long, stigma 6 mm long. Flowering on one-year-old shoots.
Fruit mass 0.7-0.8 g, height 8.8 mm, width 9.1 mm, thickness 9 mm, flat-round; cup wide and fine; apex rounded; skin color black, uniform; flesh green with burgundy veins, tender, juice burgundy; pedicel 1.2 cm long, thin; stone egg-shaped, slightly ribbed, mass 0.06 g, 9% of fruit mass, apex pointed, base rounded, medium detachment from flesh.
Fruits are single-seeded, attractive. Flesh juicy. Taste sour-sweet with a slight bitterness, good, score 4.5. Detachment from pedicel difficult. Suitability for mechanical harvesting medium. Resistance to fruit cracking medium. Variety of general-purpose use. Fruits suitable for drying, compote and juice production. Fruits contain 31.5% dry matter, 13.1% sugars, 1.5% free acids, 16 mg/100g ascorbic acid.
Flowering in early-mid season, in Novosibirsk — mid-May. Ripening early, beginning of July. Enters fruiting on 3-4 year after planting two-year-old saplings. Propagated by green cuttings and grafting. Lifespan of trunk about 30 years. Self-sterile, well pollinated by 'Sakhalin Black' and 'Sakhalin Resistant' varieties. Yield 15-20 kg per tree, at planting 5 x 3 m — 100-130 ц/ha.
Tree, shoots and generative buds highly resistant to winter frosts. Flowers slightly resistant to spring frosts. Drought and heat resistance medium. Resistance to coccomycosis, clasterosporiosis and moniliosis high. Resistance to bacterial, viral and mycoplasma diseases not studied. Resistance to gum exudation and chlorosis medium. Slightly affected by aphids, leaf-feeding sawfly and cherry slug, strongly affected by bird cherry slug and hawthorn.
Advantages of the variety: high winter hardiness, good taste and technological qualities of fruits.
Disadvantages of the variety: insufficiently stable yield, susceptibility to sunburn.
