Cabbage Ametist

Red cabbage Amethyst variety is a mid-to-late, high-yielding variety intended for long-term storage and fresh consumption. The vegetative period to technical maturity is 125-145 days. Heads are round, dense, weighing from 1.5 to 2.5 kg, with an intense dark-purple color, giving them an attractive appearance and high market value. The variety is distinguished by good taste and is suitable for both processing and fresh consumption. The plant forms a leaf rosette with a horizontal arrangement. Leaves are of medium size, inversely egg-shaped, dark blue-green in color with a strong waxy coating, weakly blistered and weakly wavy at the edges. The head is dense, partially covered, with short outer and inner stalks, and average internal structure. Yield of the variety reaches 2.9 kg per square meter, making it profitable for growing in personal subsidiary holdings. For growing Amethyst variety, well-lit areas with light soil are recommended. Seeds are sown in February-March in a greenhouse, followed by growing via seedlings. Seedlings appear within 12-20 days at a temperature of 16-21 °C. Plants tolerate transplanting well at any age, which eases care and improves survival rate. Due to their characteristics and decorative appearance, Amethyst variety is popular among gardeners and vegetable growers.
