Barley Kryazh

Working with Kryazh winter barley

Working with seeds from Bvs+, it becomes clear that the Kryazh variety is designed for predictable results in the challenging climate of the Ukrainian steppe.

The variety is highly responsive to fertilization, yet it doesn’t demand overly complex chemical management. A standard protocol for root rot protection and timely spring top-dressing is sufficient. The plant tillers actively, creating a dense canopy that naturally suppresses weed competition.

Performance and field resilience

• Winter hardiness: Two seasons of observation confirm a robust root system. The spring regrowth is uniform, with minimal thinning even during erratic winter weather patterns.
• Harvest: The grain filling is consistent, and the ear does not shatter easily. This provides a 3-4 day buffer during harvest, which is crucial if machinery or weather conditions cause delays.
• Disease resistance: Kryazh shows decent resistance to common barley diseases.

For those planning their crop rotation, Kryazh by Bvs+ represents reliability without unnecessary risks. With standard agronomic care, you get a predictable harvest and high-quality commercial grain.
