Description Clorinda F1
The eggplant Clorinda F1 AS is a mid-early hybrid developed by breeders of the company Seminis from the Netherlands. The vegetation period ranges from 65 to 85 days depending on growing conditions. The plant is of medium height, compact, with short internodes, and exhibits high resistance to cold and stressful conditions, allowing it to form fruit even under adverse weather. The plants are tolerant to tobacco mosaic virus, significantly enhancing their viability and yield. Clorinda F1 AS is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in various types of greenhouses, including plastic and glass covers, as well as on trellises and stakes.

The eggplant fruits have an oval shape, reach a length of 22-25 cm and a weight of up to 1.5 kg. Their skin is glossy, dark purple, dense and elastic. The flesh is white or cream-colored, does not darken at the cut, and contains almost no seeds, making it especially appealing for culinary use. Due to the absence of bitterness and excellent taste, the fruits are suitable for fresh consumption as well as for various thermal processing, canning and freezing. The market appearance and taste qualities are retained during transportation and storage under cool conditions.

For successful cultivation, seeds are sown in early February for greenhouse and early March for open ground, with an optimal germination temperature of around +25°C during the day and +12°C at night. Seedlings are transplanted into the soil 40-50 days after sowing, when they reach a height of about 20 cm. Plants are spaced at 35-45 thousand per hectare, with an inter-plant distance of about 45 cm. Watering should be moderate, increasing frequency with the appearance of the first leaves, but avoiding overwatering to prevent disease development. Clorinda F1 AS demonstrates adaptability to agronomic practices and growing conditions, making it an attractive choice for farmers and gardeners.
