Summer variety selected at the Buryat Fruit and Berry Experimental Station. Breeders: L. I. Dubrovskaya, I. A. Novoselova. Obtained from crossing Purple Ranecka with Papirovka. Widely grown in collective and private gardens of Buryatia, to a lesser extent in Chita Oblast. Approved in Irkutsk, Kemerovsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk Oblasts and Krasnoyarsk Krai.
Tree shrub-like, medium-sized, with a round, moderately dense crown that becomes more spreading with age. Moderate leafiness. Bark on the trunk and main scaffold branches is greenish-brown. Branches are straight, compactly arranged and directed upward. Fruit set is concentrated, mainly on simple buds.
Shoots are brownish-gray, straight, round in cross-section, medium thickness, hairy. Buds are medium-sized, few in number. Buds are small, round, pressed against the shoot.
Leaves are dark green, directed upward. Base is rounded. Leaf margin is serrated. Leaf blade is leathery, surface wrinkled, glossy, without hairs. Petiole is long. Stipules are thread-like, often absent entirely.
Flowers are medium-sized, dish-shaped, white, with stigmas raised above the anthers.
Fruits (see illustration) are very small, one-dimensional, slightly flattened, round, asymmetrical, smooth. Main skin color is light yellow, covering color is raspberry, strong and diffuse. Skin is smooth with a waxy coating. Surface rusted in spots, the pit is heavily rusted. Peduncle is medium, thin. Calyx is medium, wide.
Flesh is cream-colored, medium in juiciness and firmness, finely grained. Flavor is sour-sweet with moderate aroma.
Fruits are attractive, flavor is good. Chemical composition of fruits: total sugar content — 11.6%, titratable acids — 1.2%, ascorbic acid — up to 17 mg/100g, P-active substances — 181 mg/100g.
Ripens quickly, summer variety.
Fruits are consumed fresh, make excellent compotes, jams, juices. Stored fresh for nearly two months.
Self-sterile. Best pollinator: Ermolaev 23, acceptable: Podarok BAMu.
Trees begin fruiting at age 4. Annual fruiting. Moderately high yielding; full fruiting yields 20.6 kg per tree. Moderate cold and drought resistance.
Advantages of the variety: largest-fruited among all Buryat varieties, improved taste qualities, well-adapted to Zabaykalsky conditions, fruits rich in vitamins C and P.
Disadvantages of the variety: small fruits.
