Description Kyiv Hybrid
Actinidia 'Kyiv Hybrid' is a climbing plant growing up to 5–6 m high, which grows quickly and reaches maturity already in the third year after planting. The fruits are large, elongated, about 3 cm long and weighing from 15 to 20 grams. Their taste is sour-sweet with bright notes of kiwi and gooseberry, sometimes compared to strawberry. Berries do not drop when ripening and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two months at 0–2 °C.

The variety yields a consistently high harvest – from 7 to 12 kg per bush, making it attractive for both gardeners and commercial cultivation. A paired male seedling of the same variety is required for full fruiting; with proper pollination, each bush can yield not less than one bucket of berries. The plant is resistant to most diseases of garden crops, but in the first 1–2 years it requires winter cover in northern regions.

The climatic requirements of 'Kyiv Hybrid' are quite mild: frost resistance up to –25 °C (some sources mention –30 °C), the soil should be slightly acidic (pH 5.5–6.5) and well-drained. The best places for planting are sunny or partially shaded areas protected from the wind; the plant is convenient to grow along walls, on trellises, or as a decorative vine. Regular watering and fertilization (humates for vegetative growth and potassium during fruiting) contribute to healthy growth and increase yield.

In general, 'Kyiv Hybrid' combines ease of care, high productivity, and tasty fruits, making it one of the most popular actinidia varieties among gardeners.
