Morphologically, the plant exhibits typical cruciferous characteristics: it is a herbaceous species with small leaves capable of water retention and a flower structure characteristic of the mustard family. Its stems and shoots are remarkably resilient to severe fluctuations in day and night temperatures.
Soil requirements for this species include excellent aeration and low moisture retention, as the plant is highly sensitive to waterlogging in the root zone. Under experimental cultivation conditions, sandy or loamy soils with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH are preferred.
