The plant is known for its distinctive climbing habit, requiring significant vertical space to support its vigorous stems. It acts as a woody vine that attaches itself to larger vegetation for stability and access to light in its natural habitat.
Cultivation requires specific environmental conditions, primarily high atmospheric humidity and moderate temperatures. It is not cold-hardy and must be protected from temperatures below 15°C, making it suitable for greenhouses or tropical climates.
