YULIA

Yulia watermelon F1 is an early-maturing, high-yielding hybrid developed by the Dutch company Nunhems B.V. This variety is intended for cultivation in open ground and under film coverings, allowing for successful cultivation in various climatic conditions, including regions with climates unusual for the crop. The plant is powerful, trailing, with a long main tendril and a medium-sized leaf blade, which effectively protects fruits from sunburn due to dense leaf coverage.

Yulia watermelon fruits have a wide-elliptical shape, light green color with a characteristic prickly pattern, and medium rind thickness. Average fruit weight ranges from 8 to 12 kg, while the hybrid demonstrates high plasticity: fruit size and weight depend on planting density. The flesh is bright red, dense, and juicy, without cavities, with high sugar content (5.7-9.0%) and dry matter (8.3-9.7%), providing excellent taste qualities. Seeds are medium-sized with brown color and speckled pattern.

The Yulia hybrid is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 524 centners per hectare in the North Caucasus region with irrigation, as well as good resistance to fusarium wilt and other diseases. Fruits have excellent transportability and can be stored for up to 14 days without loss of marketable and taste qualities. Early maturing (51-78 days from germination to harvest) and high responsiveness to drip irrigation make this variety attractive for commercial cultivation and distribution through retail networks.
