Tulip Parade (Darwin Hybrid Tulip 'Parade') belongs to the Darwin Hybrid class (Division 4) and is one of the most charming representatives of this variety. Registered around 1951, it has received numerous awards alongside the variety 'Apeldoorn'. This tulip features giant alizarine-red flowers with bright yellow edges and dark bases, giving it a striking and attractive appearance. The flowers are simple, usually elongated, with a broad base and narrower apex, and the cup height is 8–10 cm. The plant height reaches 50–60 cm, and the flowering period occurs in mid-spring. Tulip Parade is a medium-flowering variety that is suitable for cultivation in full sun or partial shade under tree canopies. The stems are long and sturdy, ensuring flower stability. For planting, choose loose soil, plant bulbs in groups of six or more, or distribute them evenly along garden borders. After flowering, remove wilted flowers, but leave leaves and stems until fully dry to allow nutrients to accumulate in the bulb. This tulip variety pairs well with other plants, such as the Golden Parade variety, creating vibrant and striking compositions in the garden. In hot weather, the plant requires moderate watering to maintain health and decorative appeal.
