The triticale variety "Lovimov's Memory" represents a unique combination of wheat and steppe bromegrass, allowing it to possess a wide range of agronomic advantages. Thanks to the integration of 42 wheat chromosomes and 14 bromegrass chromosomes, the plant demonstrates high resistance to diseases (brown rust, powdery mildew, septoria, fusarium of the ear) and adverse climatic conditions. The vegetation period is 345–347 days, and the plant height reaches 135–150 cm, which ensures good productivity even in northern and southern growing zones.
The culture is characterized by high yield: in the central zone it can reach from 30 to 39 centners per hectare, while average grain size is maintained (mass of 1000 grains – 31–35 g) and a white beardless ear of 10–15 cm length. Crude protein content is 17.5–18.4%, and gluten – 42.7–43.1%. These indicators make the grain suitable for bread production and other flour products. After harvesting, green mass can be collected, which allows using straw as feed for cows.
The variety has the ability to give up to four harvest cycles per season due to the ability to regrow after mowing and form an ear in full maturity. This makes it particularly valuable for regions with risky agricultural conditions, where maximum return from one plot is required. In addition, the grain is colored purple and is rich in antioxidants, opening perspectives for further use in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
"Lovimov's Memory" was bred within the national project "Technological Support of Food Security" and registered in 2020. The culture is grown as winter wheat, and overwintering is possible only under favorable conditions. This makes it a hybrid with high potential for further development and commercial use.
