TOUCH-ME-NOT – a perennial medicinal and spicy plant 30‑40 cm high, widely distributed in Europe. Young leaves have a characteristic taste of onion and garlic; they are used as fresh or dried seasoning in small quantities for dishes from meat, poultry and fish.
In medicine, rue is used as an antiseptic agent. It helps with shortness of breath, general weakness and nervous diseases. However, the plant is poisonous in large doses, so its use is contraindicated for pregnant women. When used in cooking and medicinal purposes, it is necessary to observe moderation.
Rue – a heat-loving plant that requires winter shelter. In the middle zone of Russia, it is grown by seedling method: seeds are sown into the ground southwards, and seedlings are planted after the end of frosts according to the scheme 60×60 cm. Cutting starts from the second year of cultivation, 60 days after the beginning of shoot growth. This approach ensures sustainable growth and good quality yield.
