Aist Kharkivskyi — this is an autumn-sown triticale variety developed at the Institute of Plant Physiology named after V.Ya. Yuryev and recognized as a national standard of Ukraine. This variety is mainly grown in the forest-steppe zone and is characterized by a medium-early maturity period — approximately 275 days. The plant height reaches 103 cm, which provides optimal conditions for grain formation. The grain of this variety contains 12.5% protein, and the thousand-grain weight is 43.2 g, indicating high product quality. The Aist Kharkivskyi variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness, which is rated at 9 points in field conditions, enabling it to successfully withstand frosts. Additionally, it exhibits high resistance to lodging (8.7 points), shattering (9 points), and drought (8 points). During testing years, the variety was lightly affected by major diseases and pests, making it a reliable choice for farmers seeking a stable yield. The development of the Aist Kharkivskyi variety is the result of long-term work by the laboratory of triticale selection and genetics, which focuses on increasing yield, resistance to abiotic and biotic factors, and improving grain quality. Thanks to these efforts, more than 25 triticale varieties have been developed, among which Aist Kharkivskyi stands out for its stability, high productivity, and good baking properties, making it promising for wide use in agriculture.
