Tomato Zhegalov is a medium-maturing variety with a period from germination to fruiting of 100-105 days. The plant is a bush-type, low-growing variety, reaching a height of 40-45 cm. The bush is very compact and dense, which simplifies care and allows efficient space utilization during cultivation. The inflorescences are simple, including 5-6 unusual fruits that ripen simultaneously, ensuring uniform harvest.
The fruits of tomato Zhegalov have a strongly elongated-cylindrical shape, with a fruit length of 15-16 cm, a diameter of 3-4 cm, and a weight of approximately 130-140 g per fruit. They are bright red in color, making them attractive to consumers. Due to their size and shape, these tomatoes are ideal for whole-fruit canning, preserving both flavor and texture.
The variety is excellently adapted for cultivation in open ground. It is recommended to grow it as seedlings: seeds are sown in prepared soil containing loam, manure, and sand, at a temperature not lower than 16°C. After the appearance of two true leaves, seedlings are transplanted into pots with a 10 cm diameter. One week before transplanting seedlings to their permanent location, they are fertilized with a complete mineral fertilizer with a predominance of potassium and phosphorus. When grown in open ground, the variety does not require bush formation, simplifying agricultural techniques.
