Description

The Vladimir tomato is a medium-early indeterminate hybrid, recommended for cultivation in greenhouse and glasshouse structures, as well as in open ground. The time from germination to fruiting is approximately 110-115 days. Plants grow up to 2 meters tall and require mandatory support and training into a single stem with removal of suckers. The first flower cluster forms above the 10th-12th leaf, and subsequent clusters appear every three leaves. The flower clusters are compact, bearing 6-8 fruits on a strong axis, ensuring ease of care and harvest. The fruits of the Vladimir tomato have a flat-round, sometimes slightly angular shape, are robust, and weigh between 120 to 130 grams. They possess unique shelf life, maintaining freshness under uncontrolled conditions for 5-7 weeks. The hybrid is genetically resistant to cracking and blossom-end rot under high temperatures, significantly enhancing the quality and storage of the harvest. Additionally, plants show resistance to diseases such as tobacco mosaic virus, cladosporiosis, and fusarium. Seedlings are sown in mid-to-late March at a depth of 1-1.5 cm, with recommended pre-sowing treatment of seeds in a 1% potassium permanganate solution to improve germination and disease resistance. Seedlings are pricked out at the stage of the first true leaf and transplanted into greenhouses at the beginning to mid-May, when they are 50-60 days old. The recommended planting scheme is 40x60 cm. Yield per plant reaches 4.5-5 kg, making the Vladimir variety attractive for commercial cultivation and home gardens.
