Tomato SUZUKA

Tomato Excellence from Rijk Zwaan

The «Suzuka» hybrid is a product of the Dutch breeding powerhouse Rijk Zwaan, a company that has defined the standards for professional greenhouse vegetable production for decades. This tomato is classified as mid-early, with a maturity period of up to 90 days from transplanting to harvest, making it an excellent choice for growers planning a precise production schedule.

Protection and Productivity

The primary value of this hybrid lies in its genetic resistance. In high-intensity growing environments where soil or substrate is under constant pressure, «Suzuka» demonstrates robust immunity against classic threats:

• Verticillium wilt — preventing premature plant decline.
• Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) — essential for maintaining high fruit marketability.
• Fusarium wilt and root rots — ensuring the plant maintains vigor throughout the entire harvesting cycle.

The reputation of Rijk Zwaan hybrids is built on reliability. Agronomists choose «Suzuka» not for exotic flavor nuances, but for consistent performance: uniform fruits, minimal losses during transport, and predictable responses to standard cultivation practices.

Market Positioning

Today, «Suzuka» remains a staple for both large-scale greenhouse complexes and commercial farms focused on the fresh vegetable market. Due to its characteristics, it fits perfectly into operations where minimizing the risk of crop infection is critical. It is a workhorse tool designed for those who appreciate the Dutch approach to breeding, where priority is placed not only on yield but also on the plant's resilience under stressful conditions.
