Patron

Patron — a mid-early indeterminate tomato variety that ripens approximately 115 days after emergence to fruiting. The plant is tall, reaching over 2 meters in height, requiring training into a single stem with removal of all suckers and mandatory tying. After the formation of 5-6 flower clusters, the main stem is pinched off, leaving two leaves above the last inflorescence, which promotes optimal fruit development and increases yield.

The fruits of the tomato 'Patron' are cylindrical, weighing between 30 and 50 grams. Their skin is dense, ensuring good transportability and making this variety particularly suitable for whole-fruit canning. Immature fruits are light green, while ripe fruits develop a deep red hue. The taste of both fresh and canned fruits is excellent, making this variety versatile for various uses.

Tomato 'Patron' is recommended for cultivation in open ground, especially in southern regions, as well as under plastic and glass greenhouses. Seedlings are sown in early March, transplanted in the phase of the first true leaf, and planted into greenhouses in May. The optimal planting scheme is 40x60 cm. Yield under plastic coverings reaches 9.7 kg per square meter, indicating high productivity of the variety.
