Tomato Moderatto F1

Stability and compactness: why Moderatto F1 is the top choice for preservation

The Moderatto F1 tomato, developed by the Russian breeding firm "Gavrish" by selectors Dmitry Gladkov and Anna Semyonova, is a specialized hybrid designed for open field cultivation and plastic tunnels. It has successfully carved out a niche as the go-to "cherry-plum" variety for intensive production. Its core value lies in high fruit uniformity and predictable yields, even under low-maintenance conditions.

Agronomic profile

The determinate growth habit makes Moderatto F1 an excellent choice for growers who want to avoid the labor-intensive pruning and staking required for indeterminate varieties. The plant remains compact, focusing its energy on fruit set. With a maturity window of 91–95 days, it performs consistently even in regions with shorter growing seasons.

Fruit characteristics and resistance

• Shape: classic, neat "plum" shape, perfect for tight packing in jars.
• Weight: 30–50 grams — the ideal size for whole-fruit canning.
• Color: vibrant red, retaining an appetizing appearance even after heat processing.
• Resistance: the hybrid is genetically shielded against common solanaceous diseases, specifically Verticillium and Fusarium wilt, reducing dependency on soil quality.

In the seed market, this hybrid is valued for its versatility. It is a preferred choice for both home gardeners and commercial farmers targeting markets that demand high-quality, "supermarket-grade" produce that resists cracking during transport and maintains an excellent visual appeal on the shelf.
