Tomato Magma

Stable Yields for Processing and Fresh Markets

The Magma tomato from the Turkish breeding company Yuksel Tohum A.S. is the preferred choice for farms focused on achieving predictable results in open field cultivation or under plastic tunnels. With a maturation period of 90–100 days, this mid-early hybrid fits perfectly into a continuous production cycle.

Agrotechnical Features and Productivity

• Fruit Uniformity: A fruit weight of 80–100 grams makes it an ideal option for whole-peel canning and retail sales. The flat-round shape ensures tight packing in crates, minimizing damage during transport.
• Stress Tolerance: Yuksel Tohum's genetics are known for their adaptability to challenging climatic conditions, allowing Magma to set fruit even during mid-summer temperature fluctuations.
• Color Intensity: The rich red color of the fruits is maintained both when ripening on the vine and during post-harvest storage, which is crucial for marketability.

Practical Farm Application

Farmers choose Magma for its high responsiveness to drip irrigation and balanced fertilization. The hybrid features a robust canopy that provides excellent cover for the fruits, protecting them from sunscald—a critical factor in southern regions. Due to the compact size of the fruits, the variety is optimal for manual harvesting, while the firm skin allows for mechanical sorting processes. This tomato is ideal for operations seeking a balance between high yield and technical efficiency without requiring specialized growing conditions.
