Tomato LUXOR

Resilient genetics for consistent production

The «Luxor» tomato, developed by the Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production (VNIISSOK), is designed for growers who prioritize reliability over high-maintenance exotic varieties. As a determinate variety, it is built to perform consistently across varying climate conditions, making it a robust choice for open-field cultivation and low-tech greenhouses.

Why choose Luxor?

• Agronomic resilience: The variety shows excellent adaptability to temperature fluctuations and high resistance to common nightshade diseases.
• Fruit quality: Produces uniform, bright red fruits with a skin texture that prevents cracking during harvesting and transport.
• Simplicity: Lower management requirements compared to indeterminate types, reducing labor costs in pruning and support systems.

The main advantage of Luxor is its balance between ease of care and commercial viability. It is an ideal solution for market gardeners and small-scale farmers who need a dependable yield that does not require an intensive chemical spray program. The fruit's size and density make it a versatile option for both fresh sales and processing.

While Luxor is inherently sturdy, it rewards growers who provide adequate nutrition throughout the fruiting phase. It is a pragmatic choice for those looking to mitigate the risks associated with unpredictable seasonal weather without sacrificing the marketability of their harvest.
