Tomato LANDA

Stability and Protection: Working with the "Lenda" Tomato

For an agronomist focused on predictable results, choosing a determinate variety is always a matter of balancing labor costs with output. The VNIISSOK breeding program in Russia has prioritized plant autonomy with the "Lenda" variety. This mid-early hybrid requires minimal intervention during the growing season: in just 90–100 days, the plant develops a robust structure and delivers a harvest of large, uniform fruit.

Operational Advantages

• Loss-free Logistics: With a fruit mass exceeding 200 grams, shelf life becomes a key parameter. "Lenda" handles logistics exceptionally well, which is critical for fresh market sales.
• Immunity as Savings: The variety's natural resistance to a complex of diseases (alternaria, verticillium, fusarium, mycosphaerella, and brown spot) allows for a reduction in fungicide applications. You save not only on chemical costs but also on labor hours.
• Controlled Growth: The determinate growth habit simplifies maintenance; the plant does not enter uncontrolled vegetative growth, directing all resources into filling out its round fruit.

Managing "Lenda" is straightforward at every stage: from sowing seeds to packing firm, red tomatoes. It is a reliable "workhorse" that forgives minor agronomic errors and guarantees a stable marketable yield, even under an intensive harvesting schedule.
