Dexter

Dexter tomato — a mid-season, high-yielding variety of German selection, distinguished by its large fruit size and vigorous growth. The indeterminate plant reaches a height of 160 to 200 cm and requires mandatory support on stakes or trellises, as well as pinching to form the bush. It is recommended to train the plant into 1–3 stems to achieve optimal results and a stable yield.

The fruits of the Dexter variety have a flat-round shape with slight ribbing near the stem and are colored dark raspberry or raspberry-pink. The weight of the tomatoes ranges from 300 to 500 grams, although the first fruits may reach up to 800–900 grams. The flesh is very juicy, tender, and succulent, with a rich sweet flavor and a delicate berry aroma. The seed chambers are small, making the fruits especially attractive for fresh consumption, as well as for making juices and sauces.

The variety exhibits high resistance to diseases and temperature fluctuations, making it easy to grow and stable in cultivation. Yield exceeds 6 kg per plant when proper agronomic practices are followed. Thanks to its excellent taste and large fruit size, the Dexter tomato is ideal for both home cultivation and commercial production.
