Tomato CHERUTI

Operating Working with the Cheruti hybrid

Working with seeds from 'Niisok', it becomes clear that the Cheruti variety is designed for growers who prioritize consistency and crop uniformity. As an indeterminate hybrid, it handles greenhouse conditions efficiently, requiring standard maintenance for training and pruning. With a maturation period of up to 90 days, it allows for predictable harvesting schedules, which is essential for commercial operations.

Disease resistance and plant health

The standout feature of this hybrid is its robust immunity. In high-density greenhouse environments, Cheruti shows remarkable resistance to pathogens. It effectively combats Fusarium and Verticillium wilt, as well as Tomato Mosaic Virus and Cladosporium. Furthermore, its resistance to nematodes significantly reduces the need for aggressive soil treatments, simplifying the overall crop management cycle and lowering production costs.

Yield and quality

Cheruti produces compact, uniform fruits weighing up to 20 grams. The rounded, bright red tomatoes are ideal for packaging in punnets, appealing to consumers looking for premium cherry-type varieties. With a dry matter content of 3.50–4.00%, the flavor profile is consistent and marketable. From an operational standpoint, the fruits do not crack easily, which minimizes time spent on post-harvest sorting and grading.
