Captain

The tomato variety Captain is a high-yielding hybrid with a determinate growth habit, resistant to phytophthora, bacterial diseases, tobacco mosaic virus, and fusarium wilt. The maturity period is early — from 70 to 85 days, allowing for a quick harvest. Recommended for cultivation in the Central Chernozem and North Caucasus regions. Plants reach a height of about 1.5 meters and exhibit vigorous growth with minimal need for pinching, simplifying crop care.

The fruits of the Captain tomato are round or slightly flattened, medium to large size — from 200 to 500 grams. Their color varies from red to reddish-brown with green and pinkish tones, sometimes with a bronze blush under sunlight. The flesh is dense, multi-chambered, with thick walls, juicy and succulent. The flavor is sweet with spicy notes, without acidity, making this variety especially appealing for salads and fresh consumption.

The variety is characterized by high yield — from 253 to 402 centners per hectare, with a marketable fruit output of up to 94% and good transportability. For planting, a spacing of 70 cm by 30–40 cm is recommended; seedlings are sown in March, and transplanted into the ground in May. Due to its qualities and taste characteristics, the Captain tomato deserves wide adoption among gardeners and farmers.
