Benefine

Benefine lettuce – a Frise type leaf lettuce variety from Enza Zaden. The plant is characterized by a medium-maturity period: the harvest is collected 60–70 days after seedling planting, which allows it to be used both in open beds and in protected ground.

Benefine forms a high and large rosette with curly leaves. The edges of the leaves are bright green, and the inner layer is yellow-white, giving the lettuce an attractive appearance. The leaves are juicy, pleasant to taste, with a barely noticeable bitterness, and are suitable for fresh consumption as well as for preparing salad mixes.

The culture is distinguished by its resistance to stress conditions: it tolerates high air temperatures well, is not prone to bolting and internal burns. During short-term frosts, the plant must be covered, as it does not tolerate cold well. Benefine also has a high yield level, a long storage period, and resistance to viruses and diseases, making it in demand both for home growing and for market sale.
