Red Giant

The tomato variety Red Giant is a medium-early indeterminate variety with a maturation period of 100 to 120 days. The plant is tall, reaching 1.4 to 1.8 meters, requiring staking and pinching. Bush-type plants with dense foliage are suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under plastic covers or in greenhouses. For successful cultivation, use nutrient-rich, light soil with low acidity, as well as sunny and wind-protected locations.

The main feature of this variety is large, bright red fruits, round or slightly flattened in shape, weighing from 450 to 850 grams, especially during the first harvest. The fruits have 6-8 chambers and contain about 5% dry matter. The flesh is juicy, sweet, with a distinct aroma and flavor, making them an excellent choice for fresh consumption. Due to their high sugar and vitamin content, the fruits are also suitable for processing into juices, tomato paste, and purée. Because of their large size, tomatoes are often used for pickling in barrels.

The variety is characterized by high disease resistance and good tolerance to water deficiency, enhancing its reliability under various growing conditions. Yield varies from 3-4 kg to 8 kg per plant depending on conditions and agronomic practices. Red Giant is valued for its long fruiting period and outstanding flavor, making it popular among both private gardeners and agricultural complexes.
