Maize Shamo F1

A reliable harvest of supersweet corn

Working with «Shamo F1» from Lark Seeds International, you immediately notice the difference in handling high-quality SH2-type seeds. This is one of those cases where you don't need to spend excessive effort in the field: the hybrid is predictable, tech-friendly, and delivers exactly the results you expect when planning your season.

Field performance

The plants are uniform, standing at 170-180 cm. This compact size is a huge advantage for field maintenance: inter-row cultivation is hassle-free, and the crop remains stable even during strong winds. The cobs are large, reaching 22-25 cm, with a perfect 16-18 row grain formation. From a harvesting perspective, it is a dream: everything matures almost simultaneously within 70-75 days, allowing you to wrap up the season in one or two passes.

Protection and maintenance

A farmer's biggest headache is disease. With «Shamo», that concern is addressed: its resistance to rust, common smut, and fusarium wilt is genuinely effective. Even in high-humidity years, when neighbors struggle with rot, this hybrid holds its ground. A notable detail: despite being corn, it performs excellently even when planted near onion crops, as it does not act as a host for stem smut.

Economic value

Versatility is key to profitability. Typically, half of the yield goes to the fresh market (excellent appearance, tender grain), while the remainder is perfect for canning. The kernels retain their structure and sweetness during processing, a quality highly valued by processors. If you are looking for a balance between low-maintenance field care and high-end product quality, this American hybrid covers all bases.
