BAKSANSKAYA SUGAR CORN

Baksanskaya sugar corn is a tetraploid edible variety created based on polyhybrid crosses of the best medium-late lines. The plants of this variety are tall, well-leafed with broad and powerful leaves, predominantly two-eared. The variety is distinguished by its resistance to early spring return frosts and short-term droughts, ensuring crop stability under various climatic conditions.

The yield of Baksanskaya corn at the technological maturity stage reaches 16 tons per hectare. Grain output is 83-85%, the mass of 1000 grains varies from 260 to 300 grams. Protein content in grains reaches up to 15%, while total sugars are 45 mg per 100 grams, which gives the grains a rich sweet taste and crunchy texture. The maturation period is about 74-76 days, which allows using this variety both for fresh consumption and for processing.

Baksanskaya sugar corn is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in tunnels. Thanks to its characteristics, it is widely used for the production of baby corn, as well as for canning and sale in a fresh state.
