Description Tunica
Tunica sunflower hybrid is a medium-early, high-yielding variety distinguished by resistance to downy mildew and drought. Plants reach a height of 150 to 180 cm, exhibit good leafiness, and have large heads with a diameter of approximately 15.9 cm. The head is thin and quickly dries, reducing disease risk and helping maintain harvest quality. The 1000-seed mass is approximately 73 g, indicating high hybrid productivity.

Tunica has broad resistance to various downy mildew races, including 7–8 races, making it one of the leaders among hybrids in this trait. Additionally, the hybrid shows high heat tolerance, plasticity, and adaptability to different climatic conditions, ensuring stable yields even under drought and stress conditions. Thanks to these qualities, Tunica is suitable for both intensive and extensive cultivation methods.

Recommended regions for growing this hybrid include the North Caucasus, Central Chernozem, Volga, Lower Volga, Ural, and West Siberian regions, as well as Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones. Optimal planting density varies depending on soil moisture: up to 55,000 plants per hectare under adequate moisture and 45–50,000 under limited moisture. Yield ranges from 24.6 to 36 centners per hectare, confirming its high productivity and adaptability.
