Sunflower TFSC 2903

Field Performance: MAS Seeds TFS 2903

When selecting a sunflower hybrid for fields with high disease pressure, the TFS 2903 from the French brand MAS Seeds is a standout choice for operational reliability. In practice, this hybrid provides the stability agronomists need: the plant height ranges from 100 to 130 cm, making it easy to harvest and resistant to lodging even in windy conditions, which is crucial for unpredictable climate zones.

Protection and Agronomic Management

MAS Seeds’ breeding focus has clearly paid off: the hybrid shows high resistance to Phomopsis, Phoma, downy mildew, and both white and gray rot. This allows for significant savings on fungicide treatments, as the plants are naturally equipped to fend off common pathogens.

It is also worth noting the tolerance to imidazolinone herbicides (EURO-LIGHTNING technology). This is a game-changer for managing fields infested with broomrape or stubborn weeds. The ability to clear the fields in a single pass without harming the crop translates directly into lower fuel costs and time efficiency for the operator.

Key Operational Factors

• Growth Potential: The 100–130 cm height range allows the hybrid to use moisture efficiently, even in drier seasons.
• Sowing Quality: The black seeds show excellent germination energy, resulting in uniform stands even with minimal tillage.
• Maintenance: The hybrid is low-maintenance, responsive to micronutrient fertilization, and fits perfectly into intensive farming systems.

If you are looking for a reliable French-bred hybrid that performs consistently across various soil types and minimizes disease-related headaches, TFS 2903 is a solid investment for your crop rotation.
