TRC 5017 R is a high-oleic sunflower hybrid, distinguished by its high oleic acid content in oil, exceeding 85%. This characteristic makes it particularly valuable for the food industry and healthy nutrition, as oleic acid is an essential fatty acid necessary for proper metabolism in the human body. Visually, this sunflower resembles traditional varieties with yellow petals and seeds in the center of the head.

The hybrid belongs to the mid-early maturity group with a vegetation period of approximately 110-115 days. It is adapted for cultivation using herbicides based on tribenuron-methyl, such as Express or Granstar, ensuring effective and economical weed control. TRC 5017 R exhibits resistance to races of downy mildew from A to G, enabling its cultivation in various climatic zones, including dry regions of the steppe and forest-steppe.

Plants reach a height of about 170 cm, and the head diameter is 22-24 cm with a characteristic downward tilt. The hybrid demonstrates high yield potential, which, under proper care and optimal conditions, can reach 25-32 centners per hectare. The recommended seeding rate varies depending on soil moisture: 55-60 thousand seeds per hectare under insufficient moisture, and 60-65 thousand under adequate moisture. TRC 5017 R exhibits good resistance to diseases and pests, as well as low maintenance requirements, making it an attractive choice for farmers.
