The Olmedo sunflower variety is a medium-maturing simple hybrid developed by STRUBE D&S GMBH & CO. KG. The seeds are grown in Italy and packaged in Spain, ensuring high product quality. The vegetation period ranges from 102 to 110 days, allowing this variety to be cultivated in various climatic zones, including the Central Chernozem and North Caucasus regions. Plant height varies from 135 to 150 cm, with medium-thick stems and up to 24-26 leaves. The flower head is medium-sized, with a diameter of 18-21 cm, and seed mass is 60-65 grams. One of the key features of the Olmedo sunflower is its high drought and heat resistance, making it especially valuable for cultivation under conditions of water scarcity and high temperatures. The oil content of the seeds ranges from 51-53%, ensuring good oil yield. Over the years of testing, the yield of this variety ranged from 28 to 40 centners per hectare. The optimal planting density depends on the cultivation zone: in the Forest-steppe zone, 60-65 thousand plants per hectare are recommended, while in the Steppe zone — 55-60 thousand. Seeds are supplied in 7.7 kg bags containing 150 thousand seeds, processed and brought to planting conditions according to international OSSED standards. The Olmedo sunflower is suitable for cultivation in various agroclimatic conditions due to its adaptability and stable productivity. It can be used both for producing high-quality oil and for other agricultural purposes. Thanks to its characteristics, this variety is a reliable choice for farmers aiming for high yields and resilience to adverse weather conditions.
