Sunflower NS X 95

Sunflower NS X 95 is a mid-season hybrid developed by the Institute of Agriculture and Horticulture. This variety is suitable for cultivation on various soil types and in different climatic conditions, making it a versatile choice for farmers. Plants reach high maturity height, have green leaves and yellow disc-shaped flowers without branching. The vegetative period is approximately 118 days, and flowering occurs very early, which supports successful crop development in regions with short summers.

NS X 95 features high yield potential: average yield in the Central Chernozem region reaches 31.9 centners per hectare, with a 1000-seed mass of 57.8 grams. Seeds exhibit moderate hull content and weak marginal stripes. Oil content in seeds is at 47.6%, ensuring high oil yield — approximately 11.6 centners per hectare. These characteristics make this hybrid attractive for sunflower oil and other processing products.

Special attention has been paid to NS X 95's resistance to major diseases and stress factors. The hybrid demonstrates high drought tolerance, confirmed by successful mother-line cultivation in dry regions of Ukraine. Additionally, the variety possesses genetic immunity to diseases such as phomopsis, sunflower moth, white mold, rust, and various races of helminthosporium (powdery mildew), rated on a 10-point scale. These traits ensure stable yields and reduce the risk of losses, making NS X 95 a profitable and reliable choice for farmers.
