LG 5420

LG 5420 Sunflower is a mid-early hybrid developed for intensive cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including southern, eastern, central, and northern regions. Plants reach a height of approximately 155-162 cm, and the head diameter is about 16.5 cm. The hybrid is characterized by high yield, reaching 25-37 centners per hectare, with potential up to 3.5-3.8 tons per hectare, and high oil content — around 50% — making it attractive for producing high-quality sunflower oil. LG 5420 exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including Phomopsis, root and head rot, anthracnose, dry rot, phomosis, as well as to the pest 'volchok' (resistance to races A-G). Additionally, the hybrid demonstrates good drought and heat tolerance, enabling successful cultivation under conditions of insufficient moisture. It is also tolerant to imidazolinone herbicides, facilitating weed control when using Clearfield+ technology. Recommended planting density is 45-55 thousand plants per hectare, depending on the moisture zone, promoting optimal growth and maximum yield. Seeds are packed in bags of 150,000 units, convenient for agricultural enterprises. Thanks to its adaptive traits and disease resistance, LG 5420 sunflower is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve stable and high yields under various agroclimatic conditions.
