The drought-resistant hybrid sunflower 'Goliath' from the company 'Agro Seme' is a crop adapted for cultivation in regions with limited rainfall. The vegetation period lasts 105-108 days, ensuring relatively rapid maturation while maintaining a high yield potential of up to 53 centners per hectare. The oil content of the seeds reaches 52%, indicating high product quality. The hybrid is resistant to biotypes A-F of ragweed and supports the Clearfield® (Eurolighting) technology, which allows effective weed control and increased crop productivity. Sunflower is one of the key oilseed crops, yet it is susceptible to a wide range of diseases and pests, which may negatively affect yield and seed quality. Main diseases include fusarium, sclerotinia, alternaria, rust, and gray mold. Among pests, the most dangerous are sunflower moth, aphids, bugs, thrips, cutworms, and wireworms. To protect crops, it is recommended to apply systemic fungicide-insecticide treatments, which significantly reduce crop losses and preserve product quality. Effective sunflower protection involves using specialized products such as Akanто Plus, Impact K, Fufanon, and Pirinex Super. Treatments are applied during key growth stages — 6-8 leaves, bud, flowering, and bloom. To enhance efficacy, these products are combined with adhesives and microfertilizers, promoting better absorption and crop protection. This comprehensive approach ensures healthy sunflower growth and maximum return on planting.
